Jazziah led devotions this morning and shared how many of God’s chosen leaders throughout the Bible had deficiencies but God was still able to use each one in amazing ways. He encouraged us to step outside of our own comfort zones and to trust God.
This morning the team experienced what we call the factory tour, taking a trip to the umbrella village, the silver works, wood carving, leather and gems. It was a chance to see what Thai people can do with their hands, and they really are very clever.
We are currently in the Singsuwan Hotel in Chiang Rai, preparing for our teaching day tomorrow. We have met with Sarah and Art, who shared their story with us and told us how much they appreciate our coming up here to talk with and teach the students some conversational English. The students here are from low socio-economic backgrounds and this opportunity is a blessing to Sarah and Art and the work they are doing within the school and local church. We have planned 3 rotational activities on the themes of weather, emotions and body parts, which will be followed by our first ever attempted trivia competition, then lunch, then board games using conversations, and finally an amazing race including minute to win it games. It should make for an interesting day all around. We then head back to Chiang Mai so we can finish the week with our second work day at the hospital.
Lots to do and prepare so a short blog tonight. A couple of photos from the Chiang Rai flower festival that we stopped in at.
