Day 16 June 30, 2018

We have spent the last two days reflecting on all the things we have experienced over the past two weeks. Many team members are struggling to come to terms with the fact that this long anticipated event is almost over. We have also begun to process many questions and concerns. What will things look like when we get home? How have I changed? Will I fall back into my old ways and routines? What do I do next?
Returning home can be harder than going to a new place. When we leave it is with a great sense of adventure. We anticipate newness changes and challenges. We often go with a team that we have come to appreciate and on which we will rely. While we’re serving, we experience a sense of community and closeness that is hard to find back home plus, we feel a special purposefulness, like our lives are really counting for something. Our lives at home, on the other hand often feel consumed by busyness and activities that lack deep significance. Through our short term service, our horizons have expanded, our confidence has deepened and our faith in God has grown.
Please pray for the team as they return to Australia and continue the journey God has started them on in Thailand.
